I Love You Felt Ornament

I saw the I Love You (in sign language) ornament here and traced my own hand for M.  This ornament and several felt hearts were all placed on our Valentine's Day tree. 

Valentine's Tree

I used the same Christmas tree branches for Valentine's/Anniversary tree. Our anniversary is the day after Valentine's Day so I created a heart for each year, as well as an I Love You ornament.

Paint Chip Heart Garland

 

I ❤ this heart garland that has had a home in our kitchen archway since last Valentine's Day or so, when I saw this pin. It was simple and easy to make with a Martha Stewart heart-punch, some paint chips, and red DMC floss. 

V Day Paint Chip Postcards

This year for Valentine's Day I sent handmade postcards to my parents and Baci and Dziadziu.  I used a Martha Stewart Crafts Heart Punch to make the paint chip hearts.

Stuffed Heart Doily

 

 

Look at the hand-made stuffed heart doily my mother sent us for Valentine's Day!  She re-purposed one of my great grandmother's doilies into a Valentine sachet.

Felt Hearts

I whipped up some quick and easy felt hearts for our Valentine's Day tree by looking at this picture.

You'll need:
felt
heart pattern (which I made out of recycled cardboard)
ribbon/twine
DMC floss (that matches or complements your felt)
batting 

Circular Felt Hearts

Our Christmas card tree is now a Valentine's Day tree filled with V-Day ornaments (more posts to come).

As a child, I had a turquoise, red, and white chevron bathing suit and my sister had a purple, white, and turquoise one.  The color combinations in these circular hearts remind me of those suits.

I made them with three different felt colors, DMC floss, batting, and 1/8" jute twisted cord.  You can find similar hearts here.

Button Heart

Using some wire, scissors, old buttons, and 1/8" jute twisted cord, I made this button heart thanks to this tutorial.
